About Me
Hi, I’m Vanessa. I’m a 23 year old automotive technician, raised primarily in eastern North Carolina. I have always had a particular affinity for working with my hands. When I was a young child, I started taking apart toys and electronics, just to learn more about their inner workings. Eventually, when I was 15, my father bought me a 1986 Chevrolet Camaro Sport Coupe. He paid $1300, and it was rough. The transmission was secured with a 2×4 and a ratchet strap. It ran poorly, but it was my first car, and it was a project to be sure. Slowly, over the next few years, I spent the majority of my time and every penny that my part time jobs paid, on this car. In doing so, my passion for the automotive industry had transformed from a spark into a raging fire. I would go on to work in multiple repair shops, with the majority of my tenure spent working for a Kia dealership. It was here, with the help of a service manager and a few kind mentors that believed in me, that I was able to hone my craft. In just a year and a half, I moved up from changing oil to working as a full service technician. Unfortunately, what I learned is that most shops operate solely as a business, and that my passion was not shared. My goal is not to simply operate as a business, but to serve the community. I pride myself of my honesty and the quality of my work. I want to grow my business so that one day I am able to open a shop that is focused on taking care of both my customers, AND my employees. Nobody deserves to be taken advantage of. My mission is to ensure that the members of my community aren’t.
